Billboard Music Awards Top Rock Song winner, Walk The Moon, has even more hits hidden up their sleeve. Their song “Shut up and Dance” has taking over radio stations since the end of 2014 and has been nominated for numerous awards including MTV Music Video Awards, Teen Choice Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards. This isn’t the band’s first time on the radio, either. “Anna Sun” was released in 2010 on the band’s first independent album I Want! I Want!. This song resembles the perfect summer song– carefree, bright, electronic– it’s an anthem. “Anna Sun” appeared on Billboard’s Hot Single Sales Chart at number 9, number 20 on the Hot Rock Songs chart, and number 10 on the Billboard Alternative chart. The music video is a masterpiece on its own. This two part video starts off with a one take shot with lead singer Petricca wandering through a house full of partiers, dancing along as he goes. The second part captures the party goers covered in paint going into battle and ending the day dancing together. This video sparked a concert tradition of decorating their faces and bodies in paint for Walk The Moon and their fans. Walk The Moon consists of four best friends who love what they do that you must see in concert. Live performances give the fans the opportunity to see how much passion and love Walk The Moon has for their music; it radiates off the stage. This is one part of the live performance that can’t be transferred to a CD. On WalkTheMoonVevo, seven music videos were created and filmed by the band themselves in a series titled 7in7. These videos were all filmed in a creative, goofy one take style. I have not seen any other band who has as much fun as they do with their work.
