McCarren Park

McCarren Park in Greenpoint and Williamsburg, Brooklyn has 35 acres of land dedicated to events and activities for friends and families. McCarren Park Pool was the social hub for these neighborhoods back before the pool closed and sat unused until 2005. After renovations, the SummerScreen Film Series, concerts, and music festivals were held at the pool area. Today, the pool has reopened to the public with convenient summer hours from 11 am to 7 pm with an hour break for cleaning between 3 and 4 pm. Don’t worry, all the fun festivals and movie nights have moved to another area of the park. SummerScreen Film Series now occupies the other side of the park, keeping their 11 year streak of of music performances and movie screenings strong. McCarren Play Center is an indoor recreation center located within the park. Inside this building are basketball courts, ping pong tables, a fitness center equipped with weights and machines, and a computer lab. You can also play games and soak up the sun at the public outdoor tennis courts, soccer fields, skate park, and open lawn. And there’s no need to leave man’s best friend at home!
