The Barclays Center, home to the Brooklyn Nets and New York Islanders, is a multi-purpose indoor arena located at 620 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.The top ten world-class arena can accommodate up to 18,000 fans of sporting events, circuses, family shows, festivals, and concerts. The arena opened to the public in September of 2012 and held a Jay Z concert as its first ever public event on September 28th. While college and prep basketball, boxing, and hockey games occur here, stars ranging from Luke Bryan to Justin Bieber to Elton John also perform here. The Barclays Center was the top-grossing music venue in the United States, beating out Madison Square Garden for the 15,000+ seating category. Award ceremonies including the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards and first public Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in 2014 were held at Barclays. The arena even holds smaller events in their Billboard Lounge, providing post-game live shows and smaller artist showcases in an intimate, 300 person setting. Several other clubs reside here such as the Calvin Klein Courtside Club, the Honda Club, the Taste NY Bar, and 40/40 CLUB & Restaurant. With 55 local vendors, unique Brooklyn flavor is added to the arena ranging from burgers to pizza to desserts. The center features Connected Stadium Wi-Fi and provides fans with an app that gives users access to event and transportation information, arena photos and videos, the ability to post a message on the scoreboards, a guide to Brooklyn, and more.
