Pitch Perfect 2, hit it high as it opened up this weekend in theaters. The film opened and generated $70.3 million domestically according to NBC News! This is five times that of the first film’s opening weekend.

The film, directed by Elizabeth Banks who also makes an appearance in the film, cost Universal Pictures $29 million to make and was only expected to sell around $50 million opening weekend. Ranking number two in theaters was George Miller’s  Mad Max: Fury Road, with an expected $44.4 million. The post-apocalyptic film allegedly cost around $150 million to make.

Banks is already hinting at the possibility of Pitch Perfect 3!
