Parachute, an American pop rock band from Charlottesville, Virginia, recently released their fourth album, Wide Awake, in March of 2016. Childhood friends Will Anderson and Johnny Stubblefield formed the band Sparky’s Flaw while attending the same high school in Virginia. Kit French joined soon after. In August of 2007, the band signed a record deal with Mercury Records while still in college and Nate McFarland joined the band. After graduation, the band began touring full time and changed their name to Parachute.

Parachute released their debut album, Losing Sleep, in 2009 with the Top 15 single “She Is Love,” and accompanied Kelly Clarkson on her North American and European tour. Their second album, The Way It Was, released in 2011 included the Number One iTunes Rock Song “Kiss Me Slowly” and Top 15 hit song “Something to Believe In.” Overnight, the band’s third album, was released in 2013 and marked Parachute’s highest chart position in spot number 15 on the US Billboard 200. Overnight continuously topped the iTunes album charts in the top ten. The band embarked on a headlining tour in support of this album and sold out a majority of the shows. Unfortunately, in 2014 Nate left the band to pursue a MBA in Business. Parachute released their fourth album, Wide Awake, already a few shows into their Wide Awake Tour which began in March 2016.

Parachute has toured with well known artists over the years including The Goo Goo Dolls, Switchfoot, The All-American Rejects, Andy Grammer, O.A.R., 3 Doors Down, The Script, and Secondhand Serenade. Their music has been featured in commercials and numerous television shows such as One Tree Hill, The Vampire Diaries, and 90210. Parachute has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and at a New Year’s Eve event in Times Square. Parachute will be continuing their Wide Awake Tour throughout the United States into November of 2016 and should not be missed!
