New Video: The Rope (Radio Mix) by bitter’s kiss

bitter’s kiss released a new radio-edited version of her song “The Rope,” accompanied by the same video as the original song. The newer track is a bit more upbeat and layered with string components throughout as well as ghostly backup vocals, probably for the purpose of provoking some extra emotion. It’s not entirely necessary, though, as the song and video hit pretty hard. Songstress Chloe Baker chronicles her life through song, using music as her diary. In fact, “The Rope” was written to encompass her feelings about a religious cousin’s suicide. The video follows a tomboyish little girl torn between wanting to grow up and wear makeup and being daddy’s girl forever, a reality that some people know all too well. Baker croons in the background of this girl’s activities, casting a dark shadow over her apparent distress. Alongside the edited song, the color and sound of the video has also been enhanced.
