SUMMARY:Cheech & Chong
DESCRIPTION:On the short list of comedy’s all-time greatest duos\, Cheech & Chong have been making people laugh until they cry (or puke) since breaking out in the seventies with immortal routines like “Basketball Jones.” Thirty years later\, and after releasing classic films like “Up in Smoke\,” the legends are back on-stage once again. \nThe duo’s current comedy tour Cheech & Chong: Up in Smoke is the follow-up to their hugely successful reunion tours\, Cheech & Chong: Light Up America (2009-2010) and Cheech & Chong: Light Up!\, tours which brought the performers together for the first time in over 25 years. The pop culture duo performed for more than 100 audiences\, grossing eight figures\, making them one of the most sought after shows of 2008-2009. Additionally\, their performance in San Antonio\, Texas was filmed by the Weinstein Company : Cheech and Chong’s: Hey Watch This was released on 4/20/2010. The duo then followed up with Cheech & Chong’s Animated Movie\, some of their favorite sketches made into animated form. \nIn select cities\, the Up in Smoke Tour pairs Cheech & Chong with musical legends WAR\, for an all-night integrated jam of music and comedy. \nSuccessful beyond their wildest dreams\, Richard “Cheech” Marin and Tommy Chong defined an era with their hilariously irreverent\, satirical\, counter-culture\, no-holds-barred comedy routines. Together\, they represent a lifestyle and are the originators of the “stoner film” as a genre. Their phenomenal success includes nine hit comedy albums and eight hit films; breaking box office records\, shattering comedy album sales\, garnering multiple Grammy nominations and mesmerizing fans for years. \nBest known as one half of the hilariously irreverent\, satirical\, counter-culture\, no-holds-barred duo Cheech and Chong (now back on tour)\, Cheech Marin is a paradox in the world of entertainment. Cheech is an actor\, director\, writer\, musician\, art collector\, and humanitarian\, a man who has enough talent\, humor\, and intelligence to do just about anything. He is truly a multi-generational star. To this day\, Cheech and Chong films remain the number one weekend video rentals\, and Cheech is widely acknowledged as a cultural icon. \nCheech (real name Richard) Marin was born in South Central Los Angeles and met Tommy Chong in Vancouver\, British Columbia as a political refugee. The duo moved back to Los Angeles and proved entertainment gold. Six of their albums went gold\, four were nominated for Grammys\, and Los Cochinos won the 1973 Grammy for Best Comedy Recording. The critically acclaimed duo made a fluid transition to films\, starring in eight features together. \nDuring a split with Chong\, Cheech wrote\, directed\, and starred in the comedy Born In East L.A.. He has appeared in over 20 films\, including his scene-stealing role in Tin Cup . On television\, Cheech was a sitcom regular before joining Don Johnson on the highly successful CBS drama\, Nash Bridges (1996-2001). He later had a recurring role on the hit NBC show\, Lost\, and recent guest stints on Rob and Jane the Virgin. \nIn 2009\, everyone’s favorite duo reunited after 25 years apart for a national and international comedy tour\, the Lights Out Tour\, selling out everywhere. They also shot a full length live comedy film Hey Watch This in 2010. The Get It Legal Tour followed\, and they are now on the Cheech & Chong: A Joint Venture Tour. \nCheech is a favorite with children around the world through his many roles in animated movies and music projects\, including Oliver & Company\, The Lion King\, Cars\, and Cars 2. \nCheech contributes a lot of time and energy to promoting Chicano art. Since the mid-1980s\, he has amassed a renowned private collection of Chicano art\, the largest in North America. He will also be the brand ambassador for a new line of mescal\, Tres Papalote. \nCheech is a nationally ranked golfer\, active in the charity circuit. Married to Russian-born classical pianist\, Natasha Marin\, the couple resides in Pacific Palisades\, CA. To learn more\, visit www.CheechMarin.com. \nGrammy Award winning comedian Tommy Chong is legendary for his invaluable contribution to American counter-culture as part of the iconic comedy duo Cheech & Chong. During their reign\, the twosome recorded six gold comedy albums\, including the 1973 Grammy winner “Los Cochinos\,” and starred in eight films\, most of which Chong co-wrote and directed. Tommy began his entertainment career as a musician in a Canadian-based rhythm and blues band. Eventually\, he landed a gig with the “Vancouvers”” and co-wrote the band’s 1960’s hit\, “Does Your Mama Know About Me.”” From here\, Chong eventually turned towards the life as an actor. Tommy has appeared in several films including 1990’s “FAR OUT MAN! and NATIONAL LAMPOON’S SENIOR TRIP (1995). Chong has also starred\, most notably\, as “Leo” on FOX’S “That 70’s Show\,” and has guest starred on ABC’s “Dharma & Greg” and “The George Lopez Show.” Chong recently released his new book entitled Cheech and Chong: The Unauthorized Autobiography about the exploits of the infamous duo’s smoke-filled world. Earlier this year\, the highly anticipated\, award winning documentary A/K/A TOMMY CHONG was released worldwide. The documentary features the journey that Chong took after a fully armed SWAT team raided the comedian’s home in February of 2003. In 2014 Tommy lit up the dance floor as a contestant on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” and was paired with pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd. Tommy reunited with his old comedy partner Richard “Cheech” Martin\, and they are now touring with the “Cheech & Chong: Light Up America & Canada” tour which has proven to be one of the most successful comedy tours of the year\, selling out multiple shows from coast to coast. Tommy is also gearing up for the premiere of his online talk show “Almost Legal With Tommy Chong” set to come out on Friday\, October 23rd. After battling and defeating prostate cancer\, Tommy released a statement in June of 2015 stating that he has now been diagnosed with rectal cancer and is seeking ongoing treatments with the help of various therapies\, including hemp oil. Never one to give up on a fight\, Tommy is an avid speaker and pro activist for the medical wonders and potential health benefits of using marijuana.

SUMMARY:Joshua Radin
DESCRIPTION:Cleveland born\, songwriter/performer Joshua Radin has earned a loyal following for his wistful meditations and hit songs. His rootsy-pop track\, “I’d Rather Be With You” from Simple Times topped the iTunes album chart at #1 and hit ‘top 10’ in ten different countries. The hushed\, emotionally raw “Winter” and “Closer” from his 2006 album\, We Were Here received a four-star review in Rolling Stone Magazine. Radin’s compositions have a proven track record having been sound-tracked on shows like Grey’s Anatomy\, American Idol and House. His songs have been used more than 100 times in various films and television shows making him a ‘behind the scenes’ artist whose music is heard most everywhere. \nIn 2008\, Ellen DeGeneres asked Joshua to perform at her wedding. Radin said\, “I played six of my songs and Ellen and Portia just sat right in front of me looking at each other\, crying\, and looking at me. I actually teared up a little—that’s never happened to me before.” \nLive performances have always been Radin’s lifeblood. After stints as a screenwriter in New York and as an inner-city art teacher in Chicago\, he moved to Southern California to test the waters as a musician. “More than drawing\, I taught those kids in Chicago a general perspective of the world—looking at something and not being overwhelmed. And it’s how I’ve always looked at life\,” he says. “I’ve always wanted to wake up every day and have the opportunity to be creative\, to express what’s going on in my head and heart\, and to be able to connect with the world in that way. I may have started playing music later in life than my peers\, but I love living with the idea that it’s never too late.” \nWhen his father gave him a guitar on a whim for his birthday\, Radin taught himself how to play. He then upgraded to covers of Bob Dylan\, Nick Drake\, and Elliott Smith. Soon after\, in 2004\, he wrote his first song\, “Winter\,” about a fractured relationship with his longtime girlfriend. The song so moved his college friend Zach Braff\, that the actor passed it along to a producer on his TV show\, Scrubs. Three weeks later\, it was played on the show. Buzz from the Scrubs show was fast and furious\, crashing the NBC site and winning Radin thousands of new fans. Afterward\, he worked hard to build a grassroots movement on social-media sites and continued to build his fan base \nFor various albums\, Radin has recruited ‘dream teams’ of musicians to enhance his sounds. Among them: pianist Benmont Tench (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers)\, drummer Jim Keltner (Bob Dylan\, John Lennon)\, and string arranger Jimmie Haskell (Simon and Garfunkel). Joshua has sold over two and a half million singles and over 700\,000 full-length albums. \nRadin released his latest album\, “Wax Wings\,” independently on May 7\, 2013. “This album is the story of a romance; but there’s no beginning and no end. It’s more circular than linear. Often\, in my past songs\, I’ve referred to my love as the sun. I flew too close to that sun on wings made of wax\, and when they melted\, I fell\, over and over again\,” says Radin of his new album. It topped the independent artist chart the week of release.

SUMMARY:Yellowcard - The Final World Tour Performing 'Ocean Avenue' In Its Entirety
DESCRIPTION:“When saying farewell\, it is hard to know where to start\, especially when there are so many reasons not to say it\, but the time has come to share this news\,” said YELLOWCARD in a unified statement. “After countless discussions and months of thought\, we have decided that it is time for Yellowcard to come to an end. This will be our last album and our final world tour.” \nWith this statement\, YELLOWCARD have announced that the band will be releasing their final self-titled album on September 30\, 2016 on Hopeless Records and embark on “The Final World Tour”\, kicking off on October 6 in San Antonio\, TX. “We wanted to have the chance to share our farewell with as many fans around the world as we could\, and now is the right time to do just that.” \nYELLOWCARD was a very personal journey for the band that was self-produced by Ryan Key and guitarist Ryan Mendez with long-time ally and close friend Neal Avron close by as Executive Producer. “The motivation behind this was to make sure these songs came from a place that was deeply rooted in us\,” they explain about taking the reins and crafting it from top to bottom. “We wanted to push ourselves to create a lasting finale for this incredible story on our own. It is also why we chose to self-title the album. We were lucky to still have our friend and mentor\, Neal Avron\, on board as Executive Producer. We’ve made one of the strongest records of our career and a fitting final creative piece.” \nPre-orders for YELLOWCARD begin today at www.yellowcardrock.com\nwhich includes an instant download of the opening track “Rest in Peace”. Pre-sale VIP packages for the tour are also available now. Public on sale will begin June 28th. \nAs the band spends their summer on the Vans Warped Tour before launching into their final stretch\, they are especially appreciative to the fans that have been there every step of the way. “We will be forever grateful to Yellowcard fans all over the world for the opportunities you have given us. We have played shows for nearly two decades on six continents\, and had the chance to keep recording the music we love year after year. While it is with sadness that we say goodbye\, it is with gratitude and amazement that we look back on a career we can be proud of\, and were so very lucky to have had.” \nYELLOWCARD will be released on September 30\, 2016 via Hopeless Records. Yellowcard is Ryan Key (vocals\, guitars)\, Sean Mackin (violins)\, Ryan Mendez (guitar)\, and Josh Portman (bass).

SUMMARY:Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds
DESCRIPTION:For nearly two decades\, the Catskill Mountains hid rock ‘n’ roll’s best kept secret. Then one day\, singer and songwriter Arleigh Kincheloe said goodbye to her hometown hideaway and moved to New York City to start the hard soul collective\, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds. \n“Our music is loud\, fun\, and it’s supposed to make you feel good\,” she declares. “That’s the goal.”\nIn the years since\, the group – her brother\, Jackson Kincheloe (harmonica)\, Sasha Brown (guitar)\, Josh Myers (bass)\, Phil Rodriguez (trumpet)\, Brian Graham (saxophones) and Dan Boyden (drums) – teamed with producer Randy Jackson for their debut EP\, performed more than 700 shows and made their national TV debut on the Today show. They’ve released three full-length studio albums\, including their most recent studio pass\, the acclaimed The Weather Below. \nNow\, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds will finally appease its flock of devotees by releasing its first live album – Fowl Play. The album was recorded on New Year’s Eve before a raucous\, sold-out crowd in Fairfield\, Connecticut and was the beautiful\, accidental result of an original New Year’s Eve plan gone awry. After losing their New Year’s Eve gig just weeks before the big night\, the band made proverbial lemonade\, securing an alternate venue at the last moment\, packing the house\, putting on their biggest party to date and recording it for the world to hear. \nFowl Play captures the unbridled live energy for which Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds has become famous and finds the band rollicking through catalogue favorites past and present. The album also features a brand new song entitled “Frankie” and a deeply soulful\, overwhelmingly powerful rendition of Aretha Franklin’s “Dr. Feelgood”. \n“They may be from Brooklyn\, but the fiery brass- and gospel-infused funk emanating from Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds is rooted in Memphis soul\,” writes the LA Times. “Their rhythmic wheelhouse combines big-city grit and down-home sweetness with a little bit of Americana twang.” \nThe band has shared the stage with Gov’t Mule\, Dr. John\, Trombone Shorty\, The Avett Brothers\, and Galactic and has turned audiences into believers through appearances on the festival circuit at Bonnaroo\, Firefly\, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass\, Bottle Rock\, Forecastle and others. \nUltimately\, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds stand poised to shake up rock ‘n’ roll all around the world. “This all stems back to why I loved performing and singing to begin with\,” Arleigh leaves off. “I want to make crowds happy and see them smile and dance. Singing brings me so much joy. I hope our music does the same for everyone.”

SUMMARY:Clean Bandit
DESCRIPTION:“So you think electronic music is boring? You think it’s stupid? You think it’s repetitive? Well it is repetitive.” The opening words to Mozart’s House\, Clean Bandits’ entrance into the world of dance music\, were very different from your standard dancefloor anthem. But then so was their path – and so is their approach to music. \nThe quartet\, formed of three interlocking pairs – two brothers\, two childhood friends and a couple – have kept control over every aspect of their music\, including their videos\, during a story that spans over 4 years and 2\,000 miles. And with the release of debut album\, New Eyes\, on hand\, it’s all coming to beautiful fruition. \nDespite the delirious rush of joy that is Rather Be\, their first number one and the fastest-selling January single in almost 20 years\, the foursome came together in the studious air of Cambridge University and classical music. Here Grace Chatto and Neil Amin-Smith\, who performed together from the age of five in North London\, were one half of a string quartet. Grace’s boyfriend Jack Patterson began “writing beats and basslines to little snippets of recordings of our concerts to create something different for the people who were coming”\, explains Grace. \nIt’s not just dance music – and it’s not just music. Clean Bandit’s selfwritten\, self-directed videos have become a fixture of every release. Jack is the key figure here\, having become\, in his own words\, “quite good with computer graphics” when working in an architectural visualisation studio. “We see the music video as the product as opposed to the song or the video alone\,” he says. Until the unavoidable demands of a release schedule took the inevitable toll on Clean Bandit’s working time\, they’d refuse to start recording a new song until the video for the old one was complete. \nDespite Jack’s skills with graphics\, they’re committed to live action video\, too. “Jack is very keen on making everything real\, says Grace. “As you can tell from the fear on our faces\,” adds Neil. So far their videos have seen them battered and blown on a cold January day off the Cornish coast with Lily Cole\, dancing on ice (falling through the cracks in Grace’s case)\, strapped to the roof of a moving car with just a belt as harness and driving a giant motorised snake up one of London’s tallest buildings (OK\, that one was CGI). \nWhen Grace\, Neil\, Jack and Luke first resolved to introduce classical music to some new and interesting ideas\, this wasn’t quite what the audience had in mind. Contrary to some reports though\, they retain strong links with that world\, citing invites to play the Lewes Chamber Music\nFestival and the “super-cool” Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment\, as well as a recent show at Tate Britain\, where they started with a 10-minute acoustic movement from Mozart before Jack and Luke joined in for a regular Clean Bandit set. “We were kind of just hiding\, waiting for our turn to play” recalls Jack. “We need to figure this out\, a box to jump out of or something\, like Spinal Tap.” \nNow who says electronic music is boring?

SUMMARY:The Paper Kites
DESCRIPTION:Australian folk-rock group the Paper Kites initially formed around the duo of Sam Bentley and Christina Lacy\, who had been performing and writing together since high school. Members David Powys (guitar/banjo)\, Sam Rasmussen (bass/synth)\, and Josh Bentley (drums) were recruited from other Melbourne-based bands in 2010 to complete the lineup that was responsible for their debut single “Bloom.” With their warm\, harmonic blend and acoustic-oriented indie folk-pop sound\, their first EP\, 2011’s Woodland\, began to pick up steam and by early 2012\, the Paper Kites were headlining across Australia and had landed a couple of key television song placements. By the summer of 2012\, they had more than enough material for a full-length album yet decided to continue developing their sound live\, and issued a second EP instead called Young North. Their debut LP\, States\, finally arrived in late 2013 and they made their first trip to North America\, first supporting Canadian group City & Colour\, then embarking on their own headlining tour. Seeking a different direction for their sophomore album\, the Paper Kites headed back to the U.S. to work with Seattle-based producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes\, Manchester Orchestra) who helped them develop a more lush\, synth-based sound. Released in late 2015\, Twelvefour was a sort of concept album that was composed entirely between the hours of midnight and 4 A.M.

SUMMARY:JOHNNYSWIM
DESCRIPTION:Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez make up JOHNNYSWIM. The pair met in Nashville in 2005\, instituting a songwriting partnership not long afterward. They clicked together musically and personally\, beginning a romantic relationship along with their creative connection. \nThe couple married in 2009 and relocated to Los Angeles. In addition to their 2014 debut full- length\, they’ve released three EPs\, as well as a Christmas EP and a live album. They’ve performed on various television shows including VH1’s “You Oughta Know Concert\,” “The Tonight Show starring Jay Leno\,” “Late Show with David Letterman\,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson\,” “Today Show\,” “Live with Kelly & Michael\,” and provided the theme song on HGTV’s “Fixer Upper.” The duo has also toured extensively including major U.S. festival appearances. \nGeorgica Pond was produced by JOHNNYSWIM’s Abner Ramirez and recorded at the couple’s home studio in Los Angeles\, with bass and drum parts added at the Castle in Nashville. \nOf their process\, Ramirez explains\, “Any fear we had on album one has completely evaporated. We know the people that come to JOHNNYSWIM shows. We know it matters to them what we have to say. We realize that\, much like ourselves\, our fans appreciate honesty. We wanted that to be the cornerstone of this album.” Amanda Sudano Ramirez further highlights the themes on the album: “love\, legacy\, the past and the future all put into this bittersweet mixture that makes you fully appreciate the present.”

SUMMARY:Carbon Leaf
DESCRIPTION:In 2014 Carbon Leaf faithfully re-recorded their biggest album\, Indian Summer\, in order to regain control of the songs they owned\, but that were contained on a master recording that their formal record label\, Vanguard Records\, held rights to. For 2015\, The band is repeating this successful formula by re-recording their 2006 sophomore effort\, Love Loss Hope Repeat. Only this time\, Carbon Leaf is not remaining faithful to the original. \n“After coming off of a successful 2 year tour behind Indian Summer\, the label was eager to keep momentum going so we dove head first into the studio\, without really having the new songs developed\,” says Carbon Leaf’s front man Barry Privett. “This\, coupled with an extremely small window for recording resulted in an album of songs we believed in that just didn’t reach their recorded potential. For the re-recording\, we get the chance to address all of the things we didn’t like\, or that didn’t work. Now\, it’s a completely different album. It was a blurry time and we were left scratching our heads\, and vowing not to adhere to a schedule just for the sake of keeping on schedule if the work is not done.” \n“With Love Loss Hope Repeat Reneaux\, the band achieves a more textured album that envelops the listener. “The original album was just so aggressive\, heavy on vocals and drums\, and the acoustic instruments were pushed to the side. It just always felt like we were selling something or like every song had to sound like a radio single. There was just no nuance to help the stories breathe.” \nIn addition to wanting to get the music right\, it’s paramount for the band to have complete control over the songs they write\, now that they have embraced being independent artists once again. With owning a new master recording\, they no longer have to watch a chunk of their recorded history get funneled to a label they are no longer in business with. \n“We have been together 23 years now\, and our fans love this idea\, of re-recording existing music in between the new releases\, and hearing the band evolve as we re-acquaint them with music from our catalogue. In doing so\, we are also introducing a lot of newer fans to music that they haven’t even considered. Our bassist and drummer haven’t even played on some of the earlier stuff\, and yet have been with us for 7 years now\,” Privett says.

SUMMARY:Ion Dissonance
DESCRIPTION:Metal fans from around the world are well aware that Montreal\, Canada is a melting pot for extreme metal music. This has proved to be true for multiple decades now. Early on in the new millennium a unique sound was brewing in the depths of the underground metal scene. Emerging from the ashes of various death metal projects came about a new band determined to bring extreme metal into new and uncommon directions. Applying a unique 7-string guitar dissonant tuning\, syncopated drumming\, as well as unorthodox chords and time signatures\, Ion Dissonance came to life in early 2002. \nBy the end of 2002\, the band self released their demo “. 357”. The demo was received with praise and positive reviews. This ultimately lead to the quintet inking a deal with Willowtip Records in 2003\, and recording their debut LP “Breathing Is Irrelevant” (2003). In 2004 & 2005 the band set forth through the furthest reaches of North America in support of the record\, through which they secured a solid fan base leading to the inking of a new record deal with Century Media/Abacus Records\, and to their follow up record “Solace” (2005). This new effort saw Ion Dissonance set the bar even higher than previously established unleashing a new level of heaviness\, complex time signatures\, and the unconventional chaotic sound that characterized them as a “mathcore” reference along with the pioneers who influenced their sound ‘The Dillinger Escape Plan’\, ‘Meshuggah’ and ‘Botch’. \nIn June 2006\, the band’s vocalist (Gabriel McCaughry) announced that he was stepping down to pursue other personal obligations\, thus paving the way for longtime friend Kevin McCaughey to take the helm. With the arrival of Kevin in late 2006\, Ion Dissonance went back into the studio and recruited veteran sound engineer Zeuss (Hatebreed\, Shadows Fall\, The Acacia Strain) to take the bands trademark sound to a whole new level. Artist Paul Romano (Mastodon\, The Acacia Strain) was also summoned to create the artwork for the follow up record “Minus the herd” (2007). 3 years later\, Ion Dissonance came together to create their fourth full length “Cursed” (2010)\, an album inspired by their personal struggles as a band determined to break the mold of the generic standard in heavy music. The record was recorded and produced by Antoine Lussier\, the band’s guitar player. \nAfter playing more than 750 shows across the world\, including appearances at festivals such as the first edition of ‘’The Summer Slaughter Tour”\, “The New England Metal & Hardcore Festival”\, European “Never Say Die’’ festivals\, “California Metalfest”\,”Maryland Death Fest”\, “Amnesia Rockfest”\, and “Heavy MTL’’ festival\, Ion Dissonance went on an indefinite hiatus for a few years. \n2015 sparked a rebirth. The writing process for a 5th studio album was now underway. The recording of “Cast The First Stone” was completed during the winter months of 2016. Similar to ‘’Cursed’’\, the band chose Antoine Lussier (the band’s guitarist) to tentatively produce the best representation of how an Ion Dissonance record should sound. Having mixed dissonant complexity\, with massive grooves\, and catchy hooks\, Ion Dissonance is confident they have in hand a perfect combination to properly satisfy their loyal fans who have been eagerly awaiting new material for numerous years. The time is now…

SUMMARY:Kansas: Leftoverture 40th Anniversary Tour
DESCRIPTION:KANSAS has spent more than four decades as a part of the soundtrack of the lives of multiple generations of music lovers. The band’s first public statement appeared on their self-titled album in 1974. “From the beginning\, we considered ourselves and our music different and we hope we will always remain so.” Little did this legendary rock group realize that back in the early ‘70’s\, what seemed to be “different\,” was actually ahead of its time. \nThis “garage band” from Topeka released their debut album in 1974 after being discovered by Wally Gold\, who worked for Don Kirshner. \nThe band has produced eight gold albums\, three sextuple-Platinum albums (Leftoverture\, Point of Know Return\, Best of KANSAS)\, one platinum live album (Two for the Show)\, and two one million-selling gold singles\, ‘Carry On Wayward Son’ and ‘Dust in the Wind.’ KANSAS appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the ‘70’s and ‘80’s and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America\, Europe and Japan. ‘Carry On Wayward Son’ was the #2 most played track on classic rock radio in 1995 and went to #1 in 1997. \nIn 1998\, KANSAS released an orchestral album; “Always Never the Same\,” recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London. They followed with an orchestral tour accompanied by top-caliber symphony orchestras. \nIn 2000 KANSAS went back into the studio with original band member and songwriter Kerry Livgren to produce “Somewhere to Elsewhere\,” the first album featuring all 6 of the original players in 20 years! The ten new songs were written by Kerry Livgren and recorded in his studio in Topeka\, KS. Players included: Phil Ehart\, Billy Greer\, Dave Hope\, Kerry Livgren\, Robby Steinhardt\, Steve Walsh and Richard Williams. \nKANSAS in 2002\, released a state-of-the-art DVD using the latest technology in film\, audio and visual design\, entitled “Device-Voice-Drum.” The DVD was the driving force behind the 2002/2003 tour. \nSony Music released a boxed set in 2004 titled “Sail On” which featured unique KANSAS cuts as well as vintage video footage on the included DVD disc. \nIn 2006\, Kansas\, released the two-disc (one CD/one DVD) anthology “Works In Progress.” Material was taken from a decade’s worth of studio and live albums and home videos — 1992’s ‘Live At The Whisky\,’ 1995’s ‘Freaks Of Nature\,’ 1998’s ‘Always Never The Same’ and 2002’s ‘Device Voice Drum. \nIn 2009\, in their hometown of Topeka\, KANSAS celebrated their 35th Anniversary with a symphonic concert\, accompanied by the Washburn University Symphony Orchestra\, conducted by Larry Baird. The DVD release “There’s Know Place Like Home” captured this unique live performance and featured special guests Kerry Livgren & Steve Morse with spectacular lighting and high-resolution clarity. Available on both DVD and Blu- Ray\, “There’s Know Place Like Home” includes favorites such as ‘Dust In The Wind\,’ ‘Carry On Wayward Son’ and ‘Point of Know Return’ as well as a sampling from each album in their discography\, with a special symphonic touch. \nInspired by their 35th Anniversary DVD “There’s Know Place Like Home\,” KANSAS conducted their ‘Collegiate Symphony Tour’ from 2010-2012 performing their hits accompanied by various college and university symphonies throughout the United States to help raise funds and awareness for collegiate music programs. In 2011\, this tour lead to a special collaboration with the US Army Orchestra culminating in the ‘Carry On Concert’ honoring America’s veterans on Veteran’s Day 11/11/11 at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington\, DC. \nCoinciding with the celebration of their 40th anniversary\, the band KANSAS\, was inducted into both the Kansas Hall of Fame and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame as recognition for their achievements from both their native state and adopted home state. KANSAS signed a new recording contract with InsideOut Music in late-2015. The band’s 15th studio album is scheduled to be released Fall 2016. \nThe band\, which is currently comprised of original drummer Phil Ehart\, bassist/vocalist Billy Greer\, keyboardist David Manion\, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt\, violinist/guitarist David Ragsdale\, and original guitarist Richard Williams\, continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences around the world. \nAlong with touring\, KANSAS continues to remain a fixture of Classic Rock radio and has reached a whole new audience through their unmistakable presence on the popular video games Rock Band and Guitar Hero\, and through their songs inclusion in various television shows such as ‘Supernatural\,’ and ‘South Park\,’ and with films ‘Old School\,’ and ‘Anchorman.’

SUMMARY:Jay Leno
DESCRIPTION:Jay Leno was the host of NBC’s late-night program The Tonight Show from 1992 to 2009 and from 2010 until 2014\, when he was replaced by Jimmy Fallon. Jay Leno first gained fame as a standup comedian with intense work habits: he reportedly toured 300 nights a year during the late 1980s. He eventually became a regular vacation stand-in for the legendary Johnny Carson\, who hosted The Tonight Show for nearly 30 years. When Carson retired in 1992\, Jay Leno got the job full-time. Jay Leno is known as a gentle and unthreatening comic with mass-market appeal\, and he is often kidded about his sizable chin. (His book Leading With My Chin was published in 1998.)

SUMMARY:Crown the Empire: The Retrograde Tour
DESCRIPTION:Since bursting onto the scene in 2011 with their debut EP\, “Limitless”\, Crown The Empire have shown no signs of slowing down. 2012 brought the band to the forefront with their debut full-length\, “The Fallout”\, and a cocktail of world tours\, magazine covers\, and die hard fan dedication ensued\, pushing ‘The Fallout’ to sell over 85\,000 copies to date. Their sophomore follow up ‘The Resistance: Rise of the Runaways’ further explored the conceptual world within their previous release\, and was greeted with even more enthusiasm\, reflected in the 75\,000 copies sold in half the time of their previous effort. \nIn 2016\, Crown The Empire released their new album ‘Retrograde’. This record sees a departure from the conceptual world that defined their past efforts\, and instead the band takes you on a voyage into the reality of their lives as a band of twenty-something’s growing up under a spotlight\, and the way they see the world around them. Bathed in cinematic production reminiscent of the space epics ‘Interstellar’ or ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’\, combined with blistering guitar riffs comparable to the likes of ‘Incubus’ or other alt-rockers of a time gone by\, Crown The Empire have made their identity known with Retrograde\, proving they have the song-writing prowess backed by an understanding and aptitude for cultural identity that has them ready to stand amongst the giants. \nThere is nothing fake about Retrograde. The 13 song LP blends seamlessly from track to track\, allowing fans to truly embrace Crown The Empire as a soundtrack to their lives in an unparalleled way. Nothing is holding Crown back from being one of the biggest bands in rock\, and ‘Retrograde’ marks only the beginning of what will be a cultural impact the world over.

SUMMARY:Doug Loves Movies: The 12 Guests of Xmas
DESCRIPTION:High Time magazine’s Stoner of the Year for 2006\, comedian/actor/filmmaker Doug Benson is known for his pot humor\, but he’s also been able to put the bong down long enough to appear on VH1’s Best Week Ever\, NBC’s Last Comic Standing\, and other less herb-friendly television shows. The college dropout moved from San Diego to Los Angeles to try his hand at acting\, but when his friend dared him to jump on-stage during a comedy club’s open-mike night\, Benson was hooked. Years and years of touring took him to 2004\, when his off-Broadway co-creation The Marijuana-Logues saw its original cast recording released through the Comedy Central record label. In the summer of 2007\, he was the sixth runner-up on the reality competition series Last Comic Standing\, and in September he landed a track on the edgy comedy compilation Comedy Death-Ray. By the end of the year\, his documentary Super High Me — a docu-parody of Morgan Spurlock’s Super Size Me — was premiered at the Woodstock Film Festival. The film landed on DVD in 2008\, as did Benson’s first album\, Professional Humoredian. A year later\, he released Unbalanced Load\, his first full album for the Comedy Central label. Hypocritical Oaf followed in 2010 with Potty Mouth arriving the next year. His 2012 effort\, Smug Life\, was a multi-CD set\, and while both discs featured basically the same act\, one of them was delivered sober and the other was delivered stoned.

SUMMARY:The Brian Setzer Orchestra - 13th Annual Christmas Rocks Tour
DESCRIPTION:Iconic guitarist\, songwriter\, vocalist and 3-time Grammy-award-winner\, is a “Musician’s Musician” credited with continually taking chances with innovative and daring musical styles\, while single-handedly resurrecting two forgotten genres of music (rockabilly in the ‘80’s and swing in the ’90’s). Along the way\, he has scored chart-topping hits\, sold 13 million records and received the Orville H. Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award throughout his decorated career as founder/leader of the Stray Cats\, his 18-piece Brian Setzer Orchestra\, and as a solo artist. He is consistently cited as one of the world’s greatest living guitarists\, and has a best-selling\, extensive line of elite Gretsch signature model guitars bearing his name. Brian appeared in the 1987 film\, La Bamba\, portraying rockabilly pioneer Eddie Cochran. In 2002\, Brian earned the privilege of being one of the few musicians to be animated in an episode of “The Simpsons\,” alongside Mick Jagger\, Keith Richards and Tom Petty. That same year\, Setzer was personally requested to induct Chet Atkins into the 17th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2014\, SETZER received the distinct honor of being asked by the Smithsonian Museum in Washington\, D.C. to donate a replica of his original 1959 Gretsch 6120 “Stray Cat” guitar\, joining an elite collection of musical instruments at the museum including Dizzy Gillespie’s trumpet and John Coltrane’s saxophone.

SUMMARY:Dinosaur Jr.
DESCRIPTION:Let’s face facts — in 2016 it is remarkable that there’s a new Dinosaur Jr. album to go ape over. After all\, the original line-up of the band (J Mascis\, Lou Barlow & Murph) only recorded three full albums during their initial run in the 1980s. Everyone was gob-smacked when they reunited in 2005. Even more so when they opted to stay together\, as they have for 11 years now. And with the release of Give a Glimpse\, this trio has released more albums in the 21st Century than they did in the 20th. It’s enough to make a man take a long\, thoughtful slug of maple-flavored bourbon and count some lucky stars. \nOf the 11 songs presented\, nine are J’s. Mascis has had so many projects going at various times — from the retro glam of Sweet Apple to the metal dunt of Witch to the ostrich-rock overload of Heavy Blanket — it’s always a little shocking he can compartmentalize well enough to keep his tunes with Dinosaur Jr. sounding so instantly recognizable. Which is not to say they’re interchangeable\, it’s just that he has a very idiosyncratic way of structurally assembling and presenting the songs. Even when they’re not being played in concert (with amps turned to 12\, and vibrating ’til they glow red).the way he hits his guitar strings has a unique quality that immediately lets you know you’re listening to Dino. It’s a very cool trick\, and something only a small percentage of guitarists ever manage. \nThe other two songs here were written and sung by Lou\, and they’re quite great as well. Although Barlow’s template and palette are more mercurial and shifting (as they are with his other ongoing projects\, like Sebadoh)\, the two here have a consonant resonance. Both songs carry the same vibe as Roger McGuinn’s great early sides with the Byrds (although this has to do more with spirit than specific notes)\, reminding us that albums like Fifth Dimension and Notorious Byrd Brothers were among the main models for East Coast bands like the Soft White Underbelly. “Love Is…” and “Left/Right” represent the same kind of style displacement. \nMascis’ songs offer a lot of formal style moves as well. Over the last three decades\, J’s songwriting has continued to pursue confusion\, isolation and mis-communication as its main themes\, but he has really worked on the craft of songwriting\, and he’s constantly improving his ability to convey these feelings rather than merely inhabit them. “Lost All Day” might be the most eloquently sad of the songs on Give a Glimpse\, but my favorite is probably “Mirror\,” which comes off like the best song Blue Oyter Cult didn’t record for Agents of Fortune. The opening (and repeating) line\, “I’ve been crawling around since I met you\,” branded itself onto my brain the instant I heard it. But then\, “Goin’ Down” (not the Freddie King tune) is a stone classic as well. And “Tiny” has the prettiest pop architecture. “Be A Part” continually makes me flash on the first time I heard “Cowgirl in the Sand.” “I Told Everyone” is almost like a Bowie tribute when you hear it from another room. “Good to Know” has the record’s most insane guitar solo. “I Walk for Miles” contains the most thuggish riffs. “Knocked Around” features the most elegant use of falsetto. And the whole damn thing is great. \nWith all the insanity that is stalking the Earth in 2016\, it’s nice to have something to rely on. Who’d’ve dared to think it’d be Dinosaur Jr.?

Released in 2016\, Kane’s co-penned EP Chapter 1 followed suit\, hitting the #1 spot on the iTunes country and overall albums chart and claiming the No. 3 spot on the Billboard Country albums chart.
