No Wristband required. \nDoors 6:30 / Show 7pm / All ages \nEstablishing themselves in the current psych-rock scene in 2014 with the release of their debut ‘DMT EP’\, the London based trio Desert Mountain Tribe have subsequently proved themselves a formidable live presence after sharing stages with the likes of Toy\, Wovenhand\, The Wytches and Damo Suzuki and performing at several festivals. That 12″ EP generated positive coverage from many media pundits\, while lead track ‘Take A Ride’ attracted airplay on BBC 6Music (including a ‘Recommends’ slot). Recorded direct to tape at Shaken Oak Studios\, Oxon and mastered by Brett Orrison of The Black Angels\, the scope of its four songs clearly demonstrated that this was a band to watch. Its release followed the appearance of another early group effort on ‘Reverb Conspiracy Vol 2’ (released jointly by Fuzz Club Records and Austin Psych Fest). \n2015 has seen DMT attract rave notices from the psych community in mainland Europe via appearances at Eindhoven Psych Lab and Lisbon Psych Fest along with their first headlining tours of Scandinavia\, the Baltics and Germany. This has subsequently led to a Europe-wide label deal with the Hamburg based indie powerhouse Membran\, who will release the band’s debut album in March 2016. \nThe album was recorded during the second half of 2015 and is both expansive and explosive in its musical breadth.

DESCRIPTION:Diane Garisto was a member of Laura Nyro’s vocal Harmony Group until Nyro’s passing in the Mid 90s. In this intimate concert\, Diane will sing some of her favorite Nyro tunes and share stories about her extraordinary experiences recording and touring with the late\, great Laura Nyro. Diane will be accompanied by Larry Saltzman on Guitar & Elis Morris on Keys. \nDIANE GARISTO began her performing career at the age of ten singing “Yabba-dabba-doo!” in a Flintstone’s Vitamins jingle. From that auspicious beginning she has forged a career that has taken her in the studio and around the world\, working with such industry notables as Carly Simon\, George Benson\, Al Jarreau\, Laurie Anderson\, and Grace Jones. She toured extensively with Steely Dan and had the good fortune to sing on Paul Simon’s award-winning “Graceland” and Billy Joel’s evocative “River of Dreams.” In a richly varied career she has lent her voice to many commercials and movie soundtracks\, and performed on television. But of all of her professional collaborations\, none has had greater personal resonance than her connection with Laura Nyro\, an idol of Diane’s since her girlhood. As a member of Nyro’s Harmony Group\, Diane toured the US and Japan\, participated in her celebrated Christmas Eve concerts at the Bottom Line\, and recorded two live albums. Since Nyro’s passing\, Diane has co-produced and performed in the memorial concert at New York’s Beacon Theater\, sharing the stage with Patti LaBelle\, Rickie Lee Jones\, and other luminaries\, and at the request of Nyro’s estate was the guest soloist when she was inducted into the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame. Diane considers it an honor to be a small part in helping keep Laura Nyro’s extraordinary legacy alive.
