DESCRIPTION:Formed by guitarist/screamer Helmuth in 1990\, Austrian death/black metal band Belphegor quickly made inroads in their homeland\, but had to wait nearly a decade before their efforts crossed borders and were released internationally. Also featuring guitarist Sigurd\, bassist Marius\, and a revolving drum stool policy\, the band’s overtly satanic\, European-style black metal isn’t exactly groundbreaking but very competently executed nonetheless. Following a set of demos circulated in the obligatory CD-trading extreme metal underground\, the group unleashed their 1995 debut\, The Last Supper\, through Lethal Records. It was later reissued by World War III Records with six bonus tracks (some from their rare 1994 Obscure and Deep EP) and was followed by 1997’s Blutsabbath\, 2000’s Necrodaemon Terrorsathan\, 2003’s Lucifer Incestus\, 2005’s Goatreich-Fleshcult\, and 2006’s Pestapokalypse VI.

It makes for a glorious freak stew.\nIn astronomical terms\, the Monolith of Phobos is a large rock on Mars’s Phobos moon. As the phrase implies\, this album is an old-school approach to a psychedelic space rock record. DESCRIPTION:After gaining a brief taste of major-label success during the ’80s and ’90s — particularly with Marvelous 3\, whose single “Freak of the Weak” became a modern rock hit in 1999 — singer/guitarist Butch Walker traded his bandmates for a solo career. Meanwhile\, he also established himself as an in-demand producer by working with marketable artists like Avril Lavigne\, Katy Perry\, and P!nk. \nRaised in Cartersville\, Georgia\, Bradley Glenn Walker III launched his public career with the band SouthGang\, who traveled to Los Angeles in 1988 and inked a contract with Virgin Records. The pop-metal group released two albums before splitting up\, and Walker eventually resurfaced with Marvelous 3. The band enjoyed moderate popularity as the ’90s wound to a close\, but Walker grew frustrated with the band’s label\, Elektra Records\, and Marvelous 3 splintered soon after. He then spent a year producing albums for such groups as Injected and SR-71 (whose most popular single\, “Right Now\,” was co-written by Walker). The production work increased his reputation within the industry\, and he quickly signed a solo contract with Arista. Left of Self Centered marked his solo debut in 2002; it also took a page from Marvelous 3’s book by embodying the singer’s non-conformist attitude and playful rock & roll swagger. Unfortunately\, neither that album nor its follow-up\, 2004’s Letters\, caught on with the public. \nWalker increasingly turned to production work\, and he spent the following two years helming records for such big-name artists as Avril Lavigne (Under My Skin)\, P!nk (I’m Not Dead)\, and Tommy Lee (Tommyland: The Ride)\, as well as emerging pop stars like Lindsay Lohan (A Little More Personal [Raw]). The experience further boosted his industry profile and helped shape the sound of his next solo album\, 2006’s The Rise and Fall of Butch Walker and the Let’s-Go-Out-Tonites. The album spun stories of drugged-out starlets\, struggling wannabes\, late-night adventures\, and wild parties in L.A.; it was also Walker’s most fully realized record to date. Ever the multi-tasker\, he returned to the production booth for several new projects — most notably Katy Perry’s One of the Boys\, which became a smash success during the summer of 2008 — before returning to his solo career that fall with Sycamore Meadows. \nI Liked It Better When You Had No Heart followed in 2010 and featured a new backup band\, the Black Widows\, which included fellow Georgia natives Fran Capitanelli and Chris Unck. The new group also played on Walker’s next album\, Spade\, which appeared 2011; that same year\, he published an autobiography called Drinking with Strangers: Music Lessons from a Teenage Bullet Belt. Walker did some production work in the next two years — he showed up on Taylor Swift’s 2012 album Red and helmed Fall Out Boy’s 2013 comeback Save Rock and Roll — and teamed with producer Ryan Adams for 2015’s Afraid of Ghosts.\nStay Gold comes out August 26th.

DESCRIPTION:Born in Pittsburgh\, PA\, Charles “Chip” Esten was raised in Alexandria\, VA and attended T.C. Williams High School (made famous in the film “Remember the Titans.”) He then attended The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg\, where he graduated with a degree in economics and met his eventual wife\, Patty. While in Williamsburg\, he was lead singer/songwriter in a popular local band. \nEsten made his theatrical debut in London when he portrayed Buddy Holly\, singing\, acting and playing guitar in the hit West End musical “Buddy.” In that role he was honored to perform for H.R.M Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip\, and eventually President and Mrs. George H.W. Bush at The White House. He was also very honored to perform with Jerry Allison and Joe B. Mauldin\, Buddy’s original hitmaking bandmates\, the Crickets. \nIt was during his run as Buddy that Esten first appeared on the original British version of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?\,” with Ryan Stiles and Greg Proops. When “Whose Line” came to ABC\, he became a recurring cast member and frequent song improvisor. Since then he has appeared on Drew Carey’s Improvaganza and toured frequently\, performing live improv shows with Stiles\, Proops and Jeff B. Davis. \nEsten’s many additional television credits include recurring roles on “Big Love\,” “Enlightened\,” “The Office” and “ER.” Besides being the father on Disney Channel’s “Jessie\,” he has been a Klingon on “Star Trek: The Next Generation\,” a secretary on “Murphy Brown” and Kelly Bundy’s fiance on the series finale of “Married with Children.” His film credits include “Swing Vote\,” “Thirteen Days\,” “61*” and “The Postman.” \nWhile on “Nashville”\, Esten has been honored to perform at the Grand Ole Opry and the historic Ryman auditorium. He was also honored to officially “flip the switch” at the 2013 Graceland Christmas Lighting ceremony. Many of the songs he has performed as Deacon (Undermine\, Sideshow\, Playin’ Tricks\, and including “I Know How To Love You Now”\, an original that he co-wrote with his friend\, Deana Carter) are available on the seven very successful “Nashville” soundtracks that have been released to date.
