DESCRIPTION:Once a year\, Fête de la Musique showcases some of France’s most vital voices. This year is no different. The singer-songwriter\, Vianney\, will be performing his affective tunes\, which he does often using just his voice\, a guitar\, and a loop pedal. He’s joined by the idiosyncratic Chassol\, a pianist\, arranger\, and musical director who’s known for his trailblazing “ultrascores\,” and collaborative work with Phoenix\, Sébastien Tellier\, and Frank Ocean. Rounding out the celebration is renaissance man Joakim\, a DJ and classically trained pianist who is also a producer\, visual artist and sound designer. His performance will be a hybrid adaption of two his works: Semi Conductor\, created during his residency at Studio Venezia at the 2017 Venice Art Biennale\, and his last album\, Samurai. \n(Via CityParks Foundation)

A star-studded orchestra arranged by Evan Ziporyn will perform the album in full\, along with a special performance by the Donny McCaslin Group\, whose ensemble worked with Bowie on Blackstar. \nNamed after and headquartered at the acclaimed New York City venue Le Poisson Rouge\, Ensemble LPR is an assemblage of New York’s finest musicians.
