Intrepid Summer Movie Series: Top Gun

Join the Intrepid Museum for its seventh annual Summer Movie Series. Enjoy FREE feature films on the flight deck, under the stars!

Introduced by Scott D. Altman, former NASA astronaut and Navy pilot, who served as the flight double for Tom Cruise in Top Gun.

Scott D. Altman is a retired U.S. Navy captain and former NASA astronaut. During his career as a Navy pilot, he took to the skies in military jet aircraft such as the F-14A and F-14D. He went on to serve as commander for two NASA space shuttle missions (STS-109 and STS-125) and served as the chief of the Exploration Branch of the Astronaut Office. He retired from NASA in 2010 to join ASRC Research and Technology Solutions in Greenbelt, Maryland.


Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets. Guests are encouraged to bring their own food, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

REMINDER: Doors open at 7:30pm, and the program begins at sunset, weather permitting. Space is limited. Admission tickets (free of charge) will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis before the screening. One ticket per person. You must be in line to receive a ticket. All new arrivals must join the back of the line. Tickets will be distributed starting at 6:15pm, and ticket holders will be queued within the Museum complex. Be sure all members of your party are in line by 6:15pm.
