American rock band Cage the Elephant formed in 2006. The band name was actually decided on after an incident in which a mentally disturbed man greeted the band after a performance and repeatedly said “You have to cage the elephant, you have to cage the elephant.” The band signed with Relentless Records in 2007 and moved to London where they released their debut self-titled album, Cage The Elephant, featuring well-known single “Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked” which appeared at 32 on the UK Singles chart, in the video game Borderlands, and in the movie The Bounty Hunter. Thank You, Happy Birthday was the second album released in 2011 and debuted at Number 2 on the Billboard 200. The band appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Late Show with David Letterman. Their third album, Melophobia, which means fear the music, was released in 2013 and features “Cigarette Daydreams” and “Come A Little Closer.” Their most recent album, Tell Me I’m Pretty, was released in 2015 and produced by Dan Auerbach, the producer of The Black Keys. The band earned a 2015 Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album and for a MTV Music Video Award for Best Rock Video. Over the years, Cage the Elephant has toured with Muse, the Foo Fighters, The Black Keys, Fouls, and have performed at various festivals including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Glastonbury, and Coachella.
