Although it starts out a bit mysterious and slow, the build up is worth it once Kiravell’s tantalizing vocals come out to play in “Yello Hazy.” True to its name, her vocals are a hazy cloud that falls neatly over a smooth jazzy backdrop. “Yello Hazy” recalls old black-and-white films where patrons chain smoke cigarettes in foggy jazz clubs as women on stage belt out sexy music. Kiravell’s music connects on a personal level as well—the spiritual healer and world traveler is turning to music to share her stories with the world, one drawled lyric at a time. Her latest album, Vaudevellia!, can be streamed on her SoundCloud and is expected to be packed with even more woe and mystery.
