SUMMARY:Periphery - Sonic Unrest Tour
DESCRIPTION:Periphery represents the vanguard of addictive\, chaotic\, challenging and cathartically inviting heavy music for the modern era. The triple-guitar attack and rhythmic dexterity of Periphery has won them devoted adherents across underground subcultures\, regardless of whether those fans were weaned on the passion-fueled sounds of the Vans Warped Tour or the progressive rock of Rush. \nBorn in an era where cookie-cutter musical constructs and fame-driven scene pretenders dominated the album and touring landscape\, Periphery immediately rose to the fore with their dedication to unique artistry\, musicianship and melody. The band steadfastly refuses to submit to the humorlessness that often plagues metal\, particularly metal bands whose players possess such massive skill. They’ve put serious focus on their music\, enabling them to share a laugh in presentation.

SUMMARY:The Claypool Lennon Delirium
DESCRIPTION:Two worlds have collided\, and what glorious and odd worlds they are. After Primus and The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger completed a successful summer tour\, Les Claypool and Sean Lennon decided to combine their abstract talents into a project called The Claypool Lennon Delirium. Their efforts thus far have spawned the upcoming full-length release Monolith of Phobos that will be released on June 3rd via ATO Records. \n“Sean is a musical mutant after my own heart\,” said Claypool. “He definitely reflects his genetics–not just the sensibilities of his dad but also the abstract perspective and unique approach of his mother. It makes for a glorious freak stew.\nIn astronomical terms\, the Monolith of Phobos is a large rock on Mars’s Phobos moon. As the phrase implies\, this album is an old-school approach to a psychedelic space rock record. The Claypool Lennon Delirium will begin their Summer tour on June 4th and the touring band includes Les Claypool (bass\, vocals)\, Sean Lennon (guitar\, vocals)\, Mark “Money Mark” Ramos Nishita of the Beastie Boys (keyboards)\, and Paul Baldi of the Fungi Band (drums).

SUMMARY:Butch Walker - Stay Gold
DESCRIPTION:After gaining a brief taste of major-label success during the ’80s and ’90s — particularly with Marvelous 3\, whose single “Freak of the Weak” became a modern rock hit in 1999 — singer/guitarist Butch Walker traded his bandmates for a solo career. Meanwhile\, he also established himself as an in-demand producer by working with marketable artists like Avril Lavigne\, Katy Perry\, and P!nk. \nRaised in Cartersville\, Georgia\, Bradley Glenn Walker III launched his public career with the band SouthGang\, who traveled to Los Angeles in 1988 and inked a contract with Virgin Records. The pop-metal group released two albums before splitting up\, and Walker eventually resurfaced with Marvelous 3. The band enjoyed moderate popularity as the ’90s wound to a close\, but Walker grew frustrated with the band’s label\, Elektra Records\, and Marvelous 3 splintered soon after. He then spent a year producing albums for such groups as Injected and SR-71 (whose most popular single\, “Right Now\,” was co-written by Walker). The production work increased his reputation within the industry\, and he quickly signed a solo contract with Arista. Left of Self Centered marked his solo debut in 2002; it also took a page from Marvelous 3’s book by embodying the singer’s non-conformist attitude and playful rock & roll swagger. Unfortunately\, neither that album nor its follow-up\, 2004’s Letters\, caught on with the public. \nWalker increasingly turned to production work\, and he spent the following two years helming records for such big-name artists as Avril Lavigne (Under My Skin)\, P!nk (I’m Not Dead)\, and Tommy Lee (Tommyland: The Ride)\, as well as emerging pop stars like Lindsay Lohan (A Little More Personal [Raw]). The experience further boosted his industry profile and helped shape the sound of his next solo album\, 2006’s The Rise and Fall of Butch Walker and the Let’s-Go-Out-Tonites. The album spun stories of drugged-out starlets\, struggling wannabes\, late-night adventures\, and wild parties in L.A.; it was also Walker’s most fully realized record to date. Ever the multi-tasker\, he returned to the production booth for several new projects — most notably Katy Perry’s One of the Boys\, which became a smash success during the summer of 2008 — before returning to his solo career that fall with Sycamore Meadows. \nI Liked It Better When You Had No Heart followed in 2010 and featured a new backup band\, the Black Widows\, which included fellow Georgia natives Fran Capitanelli and Chris Unck. The new group also played on Walker’s next album\, Spade\, which appeared 2011; that same year\, he published an autobiography called Drinking with Strangers: Music Lessons from a Teenage Bullet Belt. Walker did some production work in the next two years — he showed up on Taylor Swift’s 2012 album Red and helmed Fall Out Boy’s 2013 comeback Save Rock and Roll — and teamed with producer Ryan Adams for 2015’s Afraid of Ghosts.\nStay Gold comes out August 26th.

SUMMARY:Rusted Root
DESCRIPTION:“The Movement\, means a new work ethic to me – it’s going from the industrial age to the individual spiritual age. I feel everyone should devote all their actions to all that is love\, healing and pragmatic. We’re seeing the growing pains of this right now…the world is split…some people are fearful and fighting it with all their might… Rusted Root is trying to help with this…this is our movement!!” shares Rusted Root founder\, front man\, songwriter\, singer/guitarist Michael Glabicki. Having collaborated with one another for two decades\, Rusted Root\, has honed the perfect combination of musical intuition\, freedom and virtuosity\, which has allowed them to organically shape shift their music into their own distinct and undeniable vision. With eight albums under their belt\, over three million records sold worldwide and countless nights on the road\, Rusted Root\, transcends age\, generations\, cultures and musical styles. Their music has been featured in films like Ice Age\, Twister and Matilda\, TV shows like New Girl\, Ally McBeal\, Charmed and Chuck as well as recent Enterprise Rent-A-Car commercials. Bassist and vocalist Patrick Norman says\, “From the very first time we played music together\, I knew we had something special. The music and the enjoyment of creating and playing with one another I feel is the driving force behind this band.” The powerhouse ensemble’s sweat-inducing and hypnotic live performances have allowed them to tour alongside everyone from Santana\, Dave Matthews Band\, The Allman Brothers Band\, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page’s reunion tour and countless others. Rusted Root’s Shanachie debut\, The Movement (10/30/12)\, is an energized and poetic collection of originals that capture the Pittsburgh based unit at their best. Glabicki says\, ” The Movement is an extremely joyous recording with seriously deep undertones. It is a culmination of everything we have learned\, or have tried to learn\, over our entire career. It truly is a career record for us.” The Movement is a tribute to Rusted Root’s fans. “The title itself is a testament to the community surrounding our music\,” says vocalist and percussionist Liz Berlin. Rusted Root created the “Fortunate Freaks Unite! We Are Rusted Root” campaign\, a fan-funding campaign where fans contributed to the making of the album\, while receiving some cool opportunities with the band. Glabicki adds\, “Rusted Root is a state of mind shared and explored by many people- we are a community that supports one another.” \nThe Movement transports listeners though an array of emotional and musical terrain\, creating one seamless journey. “There is real space on this album\, you can hear the room\, us breathing\, laughing\, playing music together\,” says Liz. The pulsating\, cathartic and uninhibited “Monkey Pants” opens the CD. “I have these little dance moves I do on stage every night\,” confesses Liz. “I almost feel like a monkey puppet on a string when we play this song\, it’s like the groove pulls my body in very specific ways.” Glabicki adds\, “The song embraces our unique human animal- focusing on our ability to spiritualize\, sexualize\, and dream our own existence.” The album continues to entice with “Cover Me Up\,” which begins and ends with gorgeous guitar and percussion interplay and an enchanting Calypso and African vibe. Glabicki shares\, “The guitar work on this song is really extraordinary\, Colter Harper’s parts are beautifully layered with mine\, his many trips to Africa really show through on this song.” Glabicki’s and Liz’s vocals tease and slither through the melody as the band crescendos to a bluesy showdown. \nThe camaraderie\, sheer love for musical experimentation and a desire to break down musical boundaries comes full circle on “The Movement\,” the title track and first single. “Our drummer\, Preach Freedom came up with such an interesting drum pattern for the song and along with the tambourines\, foot stomps and claps\, it’s like nothing I’ve ever heard before\,” exclaims Glabicki. “It was really great having Lucy Stone singing background vocals with us on this one. She came up with a couple harmony ideas that I worked off of to create the vocal arrangement for the song\, it feels like exciting new territory for us.” Another highlight on The Movement is the rhythmically charged and scintillating “In Our Sun.” The trance-like rhythmic patterns and Sub-Saharan drenched chanting reach a fevered pitch and then fade like a mirage. \nLiz explains that the members of Rusted Root are drawn to and have explored virtually every form of music. “I am very inspired vocally by anything from Indian to African to Middle Eastern sounds and scales having grown up with a lot of Hebrew music” she says. Michael Glabicki’s cites the Bee Gees\, Elvis Costello\, Neil Young\, Tony Childs\, Black Keys\, Black Sabbath and various Afro Pop music as among his influences. Glabicki explains the song “In Our Sun” started out as an experiment and was created with several great Pittsburgh drummers. He was playing around with the song and started listening to it backwards; that’s where the fun began. “There’s an acoustic guitar that was used solely to record the drums through its magnetic pick up which caused the strings to ring out creating a drone effect which decided the key for the song. Since most of the vocals were then recorded on the tour bus you can hear the bus humming and rattling throughout the song too.”Glabicki’s vocals shine on the lilting ballad “Fossil Man\,” and on “Fortunate Freaks” Rusted Root lets it all go and rocks out hard with the song’s energizing bridge. “Sun And Magic” showcases dazzling guitar and bass lines that shimmer like a summer breeze. Glabicki’s signature Tremelo picking and acoustic-electric guitar amplification shine throughout The Movement. Rusted Root gets down right gritty on “Up And All Around” while “Something’s On My Mind” continues to solidify their place as one of the most versatile and innovative bands on the creative music scene. \n“I was in my first semester of college. I had just returned from a trip to the war torn country of Nicaragua and had come back very depressed. It was the physical type of depression where at times I couldn’t move my arms…I remember after one of those spells I picked up the guitar and wrote a song\,” recalls Glabicki. “I can remember feeling like I had lifted out of my dead body and I could move so freely. Shortly after that night I dropped out of college to start a band – my first real band – Rusted Root.” It was the early 90s and it wasn’t long before Rusted Root garnered a rabid fan base with their unique blend of roots music and world rock. Although they have toured the world\, the city of Pittsburgh still pulses through their veins. Patrick explains\, “Living in our hometown helps keep us grounded and focused.” Liz adds\, “Pittsburgh means so much to us as a band. The city\, the people\, the community are the womb where Rusted Root gestated\, birthed and has thrived all these years. It is the home we can always come back to.” Glabicki adds\, “Pittsburgh is home. It’s family. It is our protection. It’s the perfect place to create something original. Pittsburgh is full of working class hero’s.” In 1992 Rusted Root released Cruel Sun independently and two years later\, while signed to Mercury\, they released their platinum-selling breakthrough\, When I Woke\, which spawned the Top 40 hit “Send Me On My Way\,” that went on to chart on Billboard’s Hot 100. In 2004\, the band released the double album Rusted Root Live on their own Touchy Pegg label\, following the re-release of the newly re-mastered Cruel Sun in 2003. Rusted Root continued to tour relentlessly between the release of Cruel Sun and the 2009 release of Stereo Rodeo. \nNow with the release of The Movement\, the journey continues. Liz says\, “When we first got together as a band there was a groundswell of community\, love and support that has taken us on a movement through our lives and together as a band. This movement has never stopped all these years!” Glabicki concludes\, “I hope this music will help to lighten people’s load and elevate them!! Making this record was a lot more intense than any of our other recordings. It was the first time that I produced and engineered a Rusted Root recording. It kind of upped the ante for me\, there was no way I could step on eggshells and not be brutally honest\, it was do or die. We were blessed to work with some really great musicians and singers. It was also awesome having some of the Fortunate Freaks supporters visit the studio to get us out of any routine we might have been in. Our goal is to create a ritual with the fans\, something that is truly healing.” \nWhen Monty Python’s Eric Idle created the fictional band “Toad the Wet Sprocket” for the program “Rutland Weekend Television” in 1975\, he never dreamed that anyone would actually use such a silly name. Fast forward to 1986\, when four California teens desperately needed to come up with a name to call their band for an upcoming gig at a Goleta\, CA watering hole called The Shack. \nSince that day\, “Toad the Wet Sprocket” has been the name of the four piece California rock band consisting of lead singer Glen Phillips\, guitarist Todd Nichols\, bassist Dean Dinning\, and drummer Randy Guss. From 1989-1998\, they made 5 studio albums which combined sold over four million copies\, had five major radio hits\, and won over audiences across North America and Europe. \nAfter breaking up in 1998\, Toad would get together sporadically to play shows on a casual basis\, but their hard core fans never gave up hope for a new album. After successful tours in 2006-2010\, the band finally decided to put the last piece of the puzzle in place\, and committed to working together on new music. They also decided to update their classic catalog\, and created a new Greatest Hits album “All You Want”\, which came out in 2011. \nToad the Wet Sprocket’s current album New Constellation\, was launched with an impressive #3 most funded Kickstarter Campaign in music for the year\, was the bands’ first new album in 16 years when released in 2014\, and features the singles “New Constellation”\, “The Moment” and “California Wasted”.

SUMMARY:10\,000 Maniacs
DESCRIPTION:One of the most critically acclaimed bands of the last three decades\, 10\,000 Maniacs were founded by Robert Buck\, Dennis Drew\, Steven Gustafson\, John Lombardo and Natalie Merchant in the fall of 1981. Jerry Augustyniak joined in 1983. Together with artists like R.E.M. they defined college rock and created the first wave of alternative rock bands and what became know as the alternative rock format on FM radio. \nWriting and performing powerful\, danceable and socially conscious original material in and around their hometown of Jamestown\, New York the group toured extensively and produced two independently released records\, Human Conflict Number Five (’82) and Secrets of the I Ching (’83) on their own Christian Burial Music label. \nBy producing\, manufacturing and marketing their own recordings 10\,000 Maniacs were one of the original “indie” bands before signing with Elektra Records and making The Wishing Chair in 1985 with producer Joe Boyd (Fairport Convention\, Nick Drake\, REM). After touring extensively with REM and though out Europe John Lombardo left the band in July of 1986 and the band continued as a 5 piece. \nIn 1987 the Maniacs recorded and released In My Tribe. Produced by Peter Asher (James Taylor\, Linda Ronstadt) this album broke into the charts\, where it stayed 77 weeks\, peaking at #37 and selling over two million copies. In My Tribe featured the hit singles “Don’t Talk\,” “Hey Jack Kerouac\,” “Like The Weather” and “What’s The Matter Here?” It was voted one of the 100 most important releases of the decade by Rolling Stone Magazine. \n1988 saw the band debut on national television with appearances on The Tonight Show\, Late Night with David Letterman and Saturday Night Live. \nBlind Man’s Zoo\, the 1989 follow-up\, hit #13 on the Billboard charts and went platinum. It featured the hit singles\, “Trouble Me and “Eat For Two.” The following world tour featured several European festivals\, a string of US amphitheatres and the renowned Fourth of July concert with the Grateful Dead in front of 80\,000 in Buffalo NY. \nIn 1990 the band released a compilation of their first two independent recordings called Hope Chest: The Fredonia Recordings along with a companion video entitled Time Capsule. \nOur Time in Eden was released in 1992\, and featured the hit singles\, “Candy Everybody Wants” and “These Are Days” selling more than three million copies. Rolling Stone’s four-star review called it a “…gripping new album …with a provocative\, unnerving power.” \nA second Saturday Night Live appearance on Halloween ‘92\, preceded the Maniacs memorable performance at Bill Clinton’s MTV Inaugural Ball where host Dennis Miller famously referred to them as “Chelsea Clinton’s favorite band”. \n10\,000 Maniacs has the added distinction of launching the career of singersongwriter Natalie Merchant\, best known for her successful 1995 solo album Tigerlily (Elektra). \nMTV Unplugged was released a few months after her departure\, featuring a remake of the classic\, “Because the Night.” The record sold 4 million copies. \n10\,000 Maniacs continued without Merchant\, bringing back John Lombardo and adding Mary Ramsey in 1994. \nIn November 1995\, the Maniacs played dates in Cleveland and Chicago. The Cleveland Plain Dealer remarked of their Agora Ballroom show: “The band showed a sold-out crowd the path to its surprisingly smooth and viable rebirth…Saddled with the unenviable task of filling Merchant’s shoes\, Ramsey brilliantly rose to the occasion” \nThe new lineup released Love Among the Ruins for Geffen Records in 1997\, featuring a cover of Roxy Music’s “More Than This\,” which went to #24 on the Billboard charts\, the highest-charting single in the band’s history. \nThe Chicago Tribune noted “If the 11 new singles rolled out are any indication of things to come\, the new incarnation of 10\,000 Maniacs may eclipse the old” and the Chicago Sun Times simply said\, “Natalie Who?” \n10\,000 Maniacs continued their grinding touring schedule\, finding new fans in Mexico\, Portugal and Brazil. \nIn 1999\, the band released The Earth Pressed Flat on Bar/None. An Album that Angelfire.com called “…arguably 10\,000 Maniacs’ greatest achievement\, the perfect post-punk Celtic folk rock album.” \nIn December of 2000 founding member Robert Buck died at the age of 42. After a three-year hiatus the Maniacs returned in 2003 with long time friend and former guitar tech Jeff Erickson on lead guitar. \nIn 2004\, Elektra/Asylum/Rhino Records released Campfire Songs: The Popular\, Obscure and Unknown Recordings\, a two CD set compilation featuring a broad array of their groundbreaking music including several unreleased tracks. \nIn 2013 10\,000 Maniacs released their first full-length album in 13 years. Music From The Motion Picture\, was hailed as a beautiful affirmation of the band’s classic poetic lyrics and dreamy Americana blend. The independent release was crowd-funded through Pledgemusic\,com \nToday finds the band approaching their 33rd anniversary and hard at work on a new album\, Twice Told Tales\, a collection of traditional folk songs from the British Isles slated for release in early 2015. The album is their second venture in crowd funding through Pledgemusic.com.

SUMMARY:The Bangles
DESCRIPTION:It was over 30 years ago that guitarists Susanna Hoffs and Vicki Peterson and drummer Debbi Peterson formed the Bangles in a Brentwood\, California\, garage. They did so based on two crucial elements: their common love for rock’s golden age (“Growing up loving the same music has always been the glue for the Bangles\,” says Susanna) and the crystalline sound they quite naturally created when they blended their voices (“The chemistry was there instantaneously. It just clicked\,” Debbi recalls). Legendary musical guru Rodney Bingenheimer gave the girls’ self-produced single ‘Getting Out Of Hand\,’ airplay\, and soon “The Bangs” were signed by Faulty Products\, a subsidiary of IRS Records. \nRenamed The Bangles\, the girls hit the road in ’82 opening for The English Beat\, and in the process got signed to Columbia Records. Former Runaways lead singer Michael Steele replaced Annette Zilinskas on bass\, and the Bangles began a steady climb to the top. \nThe band released their first full-length album\, All Over The Place in 1984\, with the singles ‘Hero Takes A Fall’ and ‘Going Down To Liverpool\,’ making a splash on college radio. \nOpening for Cyndi Lauper’s ‘84 tour exposed them to an ever-widening audience\, and helped their 1985 album\, Different Light make a huge impact. Featuring the hits ‘If She Knew What She Wants\,’ the Prince-penned ‘Manic Monday\,’ and the smash dance track ‘Walk Like An Egyptian\,’ the Bangles rocketed to superstardom. \n‘Egyptian’ charted at Billboard’s #1 for four weeks in a row – a feat no other all-female band had ever achieved. A smash national tour\, and awards including Single of The Year\, Best MTV Video Performance\, and a BMA helped solidify the band’s status. \nIn ’87\, the Bangles recorded a hard rocking cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Hazy Shade Of Winter’ for the Less Than Zero soundtrack that rocketed to #2 on the charts. That summer found the band at the peak of its popularity\, and back on the road for the ‘Bitchen Summer’ international tour. In early 1988\, the Bangles released Everything\, with two more chart hits: the rocking ‘In Your Room\,’ and the seminal ballad ‘Eternal Flame\,’ which was a #1 hit internationally and has become a romantic classic\, performed recently on singing competitions “The Voice” and “American Idol.” \nDespite (or perhaps because of) their successes\, the band was exhausted\, tensions were high\, and in 1989 they decided to take an extended hiatus\, canceling the rest of their world tour. In 1990\, the Sony-released Greatest Hits broke sales records in Britain\, charting in the UK Top 10 for an incredible 97 weeks\, and peaking as the #4 album in the country. \nThe band members stayed in touch\, but serious talk about reforming the Bangles didn’t begin until Susanna’s husband\, award-winning director/producer Jay Roach\, needed an original song for his film\, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. \nIn 1999\, Vicki\, Susanna\, Michael\, and Debbi headed back into the studio to record ‘Get The Girl’ for the Austin Powers soundtrack\, and The Bangles formally announced their reunion in 2000. \nIn July 2003\, the Bangles proudly released the power-pop driven Doll Revolution\, their first studio album in over a decade. A fan and critical favorite\, Doll Revolution went to #23 on Billboard’s Top 100 Independent Albums for 2003\, with the single ‘Something That You Said’ going Top 40 in the UK and enjoying extensive airplay throughout Europe. Appearances on The Tonight Show and Graham Norton\, a smash Japan tour\, and sold out European and US Tour dates kept the band busy. In 2005\, longtime bassist Michael Steele elected to retire from the band\, but drummer Debbi Peterson\, and guitarists Susanna Hoffs and Vicki Peterson continued performing and touring internationally. \nIn 2011 The Bangles produced their latest album\, SWEETHEART OF THE SUN\, which was recorded by Matthew Sweet and mixed by Jim Scott (Tom Petty\, Wilco). “We went into the album thinking we wanted to pay tribute to Los Angeles and the California music that we grew up with during the 1960s\,” says Susanna. “As we were finishing the record\,” says Vicki\, “we started to realize there was a unifying theme—paradise lost in Southern California\, the perception juxtaposed with the reality of it.” Susanna picks up the thought: “L.A. is like paradise—the sun shines 360 days a year\, the flowers are always in bloom—but meanwhile\, so many people are walking around alienated\, depressed and anxious.” SWEETHEART OF THE SUN reveals The Bangles at their equally beguiling extremes\, as soaring folk-rock harmonies coexist with adrenalized rave-ups inspired by the band’s roots in Nuggets-era garage rock. “We really started out as an indie band\, very simple grassroots. We didn’t have any money or publicity behind us — we were truly a garage band\,” says Susanna. \n2013 was a year in which The Bangles re-energized by getting back to the basics. They participated in the Paisley Underground Reunion show\, where they played with other Southern California bands from the same scene\, all of whom were influenced by the psychedelic movement of the 60’s. \nSo why are they still making music\, and still doing it together? After all\, each of them has a fulfilling life outside of the band. “I feel like I do it because I have to do it\,” says Vicki\, “but more importantly\, I want to do it – we all do. The writing and recording have become more enjoyable than ever. During the course of making this record\, we came up with a really nice working method that makes it doable for us and easy to fit in with other aspects of our lives.” Debbi adds: “I think it’s important for all of us to keep moving on and creating\, because that’s why we got into this in the first place.” \nRemarkably\, the Bangles’ second time around has lasted longer than the first\, as the three longtime partners harmoniously coexist with their respective husbands and children; making music together is now another familiar\, rewarding part of their lives. Much has changed in the lives and careers of Vicki\, Debbi and Susanna since that first time they played and sang together in the Hoffs family garage years ago. Ask Susanna\, and she’ll say\, “Where are the bangles in 2014? We’re back in the garage where we started!”

SUMMARY:The Rising - A Tribute to Bruce Springsteen
DESCRIPTION:The Rising is a brotherhood of friends\, some with ties that date back nearly two decades. Much like Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band\, they take the stage more like a gang\, than a band. \nThey collectively roll up their sleeves and go to work\, night\, after night. They were all cut from the worn denim of blue collar towns\, and paid musical dues playing dive bars\, and juke joints. What you hear is the musical truth. What you see is the embodiment of friendship\, and what you feel is the ‘spiritual healing”\, that can only be supplied by a great rock n roll band. \nThe word “tribute” is defined by websters as such: 3.Something given\, done\, or said to show gratitude\, honor\, to praise. \nHonor must come with responsibility\, and that responsibility is to maintain the honor you bestow. It would be easier to kind of\, sort of care\, or take a bunch of short cuts\, and pretend you are respecting an artist\, and more importantly their fans. The Rising does not pretend. \nTheir passion is real. Their talent is real. Their blood\, sweat\, and tears are real. There are no pre-recorded tracks\, or pretend playing. There is no make-up\, or make believe voices. The band uses all of it’s collective power to hold true to the artistic vision\, to both honor the artist\, and the fans. \nPerforming songs spanning the nearly five decades of Bruce Springsteen’s catalogue; from “Greetings From Asbury Park” through Springsteen’s 2012 release “Wrecking Ball”\, they deliver each song with the same power\, heart\, and soul as Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. \nC’mon up to The Rising – the “House-Rocking ” “Earth -Shaking”\, “Heart-Stopping”\, tribute to Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band.

SUMMARY:Legends of Rock
DESCRIPTION:Beginning in mid-June\, the Legends of Rock tour will be hitting the road for its inaugural tour that will feature Jefferson Starship\, Mark Farner\, Formerly Of Grand Funk Railroad\, Rick Derringer and Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels. \nFour great artists performing their memorable hits from the 60’s\, 70’s and 80’s all on the same stage for a classic rock show that will definitely be a crowd-pleaser. \nJefferson Starship rose from the ashes of another legendary San Francisco band\, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees\, Jefferson Airplane. Founder Paul Kantner\, who passed away in January of this year at the age of 74\, knew that combining powerful creative forces\, personalities and talents could create something far greater than the sum of its parts. Between 1974 and 1984\, Jefferson Starship released eight gold and platinum selling albums\, twenty hit singles\, sold out concerts worldwide and lived out legendary rock and roll escapades. Today’s Jefferson Starship — featuring original member David Freiberg (also a founder of San Francisco luminaries Quicksilver Messenger Service)\, longtime members Donny Baldwin (drums) and Chris Smith (keyboards and synth bass)\, Jude Gold on lead guitar and GRAMMY nominee Cathy Richardson anchoring the female lead vocal spot made famous by the inimitable Grace Slick — remains dedicated to breathing new life into the living catalog of the Jeffersonian legacy\, going to the edge\, pushing the sonic boundaries and staying true to the original spirit of the music. The band keeps a hectic touring schedule bolstered by several recent television appearances. The music that defined a generation and spanned decades is alive and well and more relevant than ever in pop culture songs such as Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit\,” “Somebody to Love\,” “Volunteers” and “Wooden Ships” along with Jefferson Starship’s “Miracles\,” “Count on Me\,” “Jane\,” “Runaway\,” “With Your Love\,” “Fast Buck Freddie” and “Find Your Way Back” continue to reverberate throughout the collective consciousness today. Fans attending this year’s Legends of Rock concert can expect to hear the majority of these great songs! \nShortly after co-founding the band in 1969\, Grand Funk Railroad lead singer and guitarist Mark Farner took his American band to the heights of success. They would quickly release their debut album\, On Time\, in August of that year and four months later\, follow it up with their sophomore effort titled\, Grand Funk. In 1970\, Closer to Home featuring Mark’s song\, “I’m Your Captain (Closer to Home)” would be released and the band would go on to sell more albums that year than any other American band. As the lead singer\, guitarist and principle songwriter\, Mark and the band experienced incredible heights of success in the early 70’s\, selling out Shea Stadium faster than the Beatles. From 1969 to 1974\, Grand Funk Railroad would release nine consecutive studio albums that would “go” gold or better. Five of those nine would achieve platinum status selling at least a million units each… With hit songs such as “We’re An American Band\,” “Walk Like A Man\,” “The Loco-Motion\,” “Shinin’ On\,” “Some Kind of Wonderful” and “Bad Time” among others\, the band fortified itself in rock history. Since his days with Grand Funk\, Mark has continued to perform with his solo band throughout the world. \nWhen guitar slinger Rick Derringer breaks into his legendary rock anthem\, “Rock and Roll\, Hoochie Koo\,” you’ll likely see many an air guitar in the audience. Now more than four decades after its release\, the hugely popular hit continues to be a staple on classic rock radio and has been featured in several movies over the years including the Richard Linklater cult classic\, Dazed and Confused\, and other flicks including The Spirit of ’76\, Rush\, Stag and What A Girl Wants. It’s a little known fact that before his success as a solo artist\, Rick had a band at the age of 17 called The McCoys that had a #1 hit in 1965 called “Hang on Sloopy.” Yep\, that’s Rick! The song would eventually be knocked out of the top spot by the Beatles’ “Yesterday.” In 1966\, Rick and the band would find themselves opening up for the Rolling Stones on their entire American tour. Although “Rock and Roll\, Hoochie Koo” was written and recorded a few years earlier with friend and legendary guitarist Johnny Winter\, it would be Rick’s solo version in 1973 that would propel him into the stratosphere of rock stardom. In 1977\, Rick appeared on Led Zeppelin’s last North American tour. In the years to follow\, Rick would perform with such artists as Alice Cooper (“Under My Wheels”)\, Steely Dan (“Show Biz Kids” and “Chained Lightning”)\, Richie Havens\, Edgar Winter\, Johnny Winter and Weird Al Yankovic among others. Today\, he continues to perform on a variety of tours\, including Legends of Rock. \nThe hits began for Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels at the tail end of ’65\, with the release of their first hit single\, “Jenny Take a Ride!”. In 1966\, they recorded and began to perform a medley featuring Little Richard’s “Jenny Jenny” and Chuck Willis’ classic R&B song\, “C.C. Rider.” The song would quickly enter the Top Ten charts\, setting the stage for what was to come that year. Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels would follow up their initial hit with two more in ’66 including a rendition of the Righteous Brothers’ “Little Latin Lupe Lu” and the song that would\, ultimately\, be their biggest hit\, “Devil With A Blue Dress On/Good Golly Miss Molly.” A year later\, in typical Detroit fashion\, Mitch and the band kept their pedal to the metal and delivered another Top Ten song called “Sock It To Me-Baby!” At the end of 1979\, Bruce Springsteen would pay tribute to the band by performing the “Detroit Medley\,” a selection of the band’s greatest hits including “Devil With A Blue Dress On/Good Golly Miss Molly\,” “Jenny Take A Ride!” and “C.C. Rider” for the triple live No Nukes album. In 1983\, Mitch released an album titled\, Never Kick A Sleeping Dog\, produced by John Cougar Mellencamp that thrust him back into the spotlight with the Prince-penned song\, “When You Were Mine.” Mitch has recorded over two dozen albums in his illustrious career and continues to tour all over the world. Known for his incredible live show\, Mitch is coming at you with all his hits in a night to remember.

SUMMARY:Engelbert Humperdinck
DESCRIPTION:Engelbert Humperdinck never wanted to be a singer. A career in music\, yes\, but he was extraordinarily shy. The youngest boy of a family of ten children originally from Leicester\, England\, he grew up in Madras\, India\, where his father was stationed during World War II. Engelbert’s childhood was dominated by the love of his parents and his brothers and sisters. He knew he could sing harmonies\, but the power of his own voice came as a surprise to him and other people. “It’s just so loud\, but I discovered I can be tender with it at the same time.” \nLike all great icons\, he is a man of great depth – masculine and loving\, shy inside and uninhibited onstage\, prepared to play the sex god to the hilt and still\, at this stage of his career\, managing to get away with it. “My mother’s side of the family had the signing voice so I must have inherited that from her. My father was a man’s man – strong\, athletic\, charismatic. And I like to do all kind of men things. I love sports\, golf\, tennis martial arts\, soccer\, skiing\, but at the same time\, yes I do appreciate women.” \nIn a career spanning almost 50 years\, Engelbert has generated sales in excess of 140 million records\, including 64 gold albums and 35 platinum\, four Grammy nominations\, a Golden Globe\, and stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame\, Las Vegas Walk of Fame\, and Leicester Walk of Fame. He has performed for the Queen four times\, several presidents and many heads of state. He has recorded everything from the most romantic ballads to movie theme songs\, disco\, rock\, and even gospel. His unique voice has charmed millions of fans around the globe. However\, it’s not just the voice\, but the man himself\, with his endearing sense of humor and self-deprecating jokes. Engelbert has managed to strike a new chord with a younger generation after appearing on MTV several times. \nThe following decades saw Engelbert touring the world to sell-out crowds. Engelbert seems to take great pleasure in every moment on stage\, a place where he can lose his inhibitions and no longer be the child who was once shy. \nEngelbert’s music has transcended time and his voice still continues to reach out to people now – serving to transport and inspire\, to embrace and to provoke feelings and emotions…ingredients that are no doubt the essence of his long-lasting success.

SUMMARY:Further Seems Forever - How To Start A Fire
DESCRIPTION:Passion. It’s not only the reason so many musicians strive to make a career of their art\, but it’s the inherent drive to keep aspirations alive and running. It’s what pushes a band through the loss of two separate singers and on to a third with hopeful optimism. It’s the ingredient that views skeptics as motivation and trials as inspiration. And ultimately\, it’s what has set Further Seems Forever apart from the pack.

SUMMARY:D GENERATION - Album Release Show
DESCRIPTION:NYC Album Release Show July 30 @ Irving Plaza \nD Generation needs no introduction. Often credited for keeping NYC punk rock alive in the ’90s\, these five friends with unmistakable chemistry are widely regarded as one of the most important and unsung rock ‘n’ roll bands of the past twenty-five years. \nBefore they’d ever been signed\, D Gen played sell-out concerts at such seminal New York City venues as CBGB\, the Continental and Irving Plaza. Gear was trashed\, bottles broken\, authorities called\, venues shut down\, record execs turned away… but the lucky few hundred who were at these gigs were instant converts. A “scene” was born. \nNow the classic D Gen lineup – Jesse Malin\, Danny Sage\, Howie Pyro\, Michael Wildwood and Richard Bacchus – is putting the finishing touches on a brand new album. Recorded under Avenue A and on Rivington Street\, D Generation remains connected to their NYC home and wouldn’t want it any other way. Produced by Danny Sage\, the record will be out this summer on the band’s own Bastard Basement Records via distribution from MRI / RED\, with a hometown record release show confirmed for July 30 at Irving Plaza in NYC. Tickets will go on sale this Friday March 4 at 10am EST. \nDiehards who want to see the band sooner can check out their performance on May 6 at the Studio at Webster Hall in NYC (as part of The Grid festival)\, where D Generation will give a rare performance of No Lunch in it’s entirety to honor the seminal album’s 20th anniversary. It’s a tribute to the anthems that first put D Gen on the international map. “There is no better sales pitch for the snot-rock classicism and teenage-warfare spirit of D Generation than [the song] ‘No Way Out\,’” writes David Fricke for Rolling Stone\, who hails the song a “stone classic.” \n“New York punk that takes the best of the ’70s Street-rat sneers\, tight black pants and artfully messed-up hairdos: D Generation are the stuff that popped-up 70s punk was made of…. tailor-made for grimy pinball arcades and Brand X beer-drinking binges.” – Rolling Stone

SUMMARY:She Wants Revenge - Debut Album 10 Year Anniversary Tour
DESCRIPTION:Los Angeles DJs Justin Warfield and Adam “Adam 12” Bravin formed the moody\, Joy Division-inspired She Wants Revenge in 2003. A fortuitous combination of word of mouth\, industry connections\, and airplay on Sirius Satellite Radio and West Coast airwave giant KCRW provided the duo with enough exposure to snag a record deal with Geffen\, resulting in a 2006 self-titled release that drew comparisons to Interpol\, early Depeche Mode\, and the Bravery\, as well as their aforementioned eternally depressed post-punk heroes from England. After touring with Depeche Mode\, they returned with 2007’s This Is Forever. She Wants Revenge then issued two EPs\, 2008’s Save Your Soul and the following year’s Up & Down. A tour with the Psychedelic Furs led the way for the band’s third album\, Valleyheart\, in 2011.
