[mashshare]

The Casablanca Cocktail Lounge is a little piece of history on the corner of Malcolm X Boulevard and MacDonough Street in Bed-Stuy. Immediately upon entering the newly reopened bar you might have the overwhelming sensation that you just traveled back in time. Dim lighting from aged chandeliers highlight the original tin ceiling and all the nooks and crannies that the owners have chosen to embrace rather than cover up. It’s safe to say the bars original 1940s vibes have been preserved.

With an array of tasty beers, signature cocktails, and various wines to choose from, there’s a little something for everyone to enjoy at the bar. In the future, they also plan to serve saloon-styled food to further complete the image they’re going for at this welcoming new neighborhood joint. Owners Jon Carlson (Bed-Vyne Brews designer) and Charles von Herrlich (owner of the NoHo wine bar Von) are bringing their past experiences together to create a staple in Bed-Stuy where customers can feel like they’re in a second home. The bar has been around since the late 1940s and its recent reopening is sure to bring a bit more pizzazz to the neighborhood that has locals and new residents alike excited.

Hop onto the C train and head over to the Casablanca Cocktail Lounge where you’ll be sure to hear some groovy tunes streaming from the record player as a black and white movie plays onto a blank wall. The warm atmosphere coupled with the friendly bartenders make Casablanca Cocktail Lounge the sort of place you want to become a regular at. Good conversations, good people, and great drinks await you.
